
Gareth Bell
Partner
Gareth is a Partner specialising in
trust disputes, professional negligence, commercial litigation
(including freezing injunctions), insolvency matters and
employment. He has acted on some of the largest and most
significant pieces of litigation to come before the Guernsey Courts
over the past few years including acting for the Joint
Administrators of Landsbanki (Guernsey) Limited (In
Administration). He regularly acts for various local banks, trust
companies and financial services businesses in relation to
Commercial disputes, principally banking (including money
laundering, asset tracing and freezing and disclosure orders).
Chambers 2012 comments that Gareth is an 'easy-to-deal-with
insolvency specialist.' Previously they praised Gareth as
'undoubtedly a figure on the rise - capable, enthusiastic and
demonstrating true 24/7 dedication'. Legal 500 2011 says Gareth is
a 'top-notch advocate'.
Prior to joining Collas Crill in 2005,
Gareth was a solicitor at Reynolds Porter Chamberlain in London
from 1999-2005 where he also trained. He was called to the Guernsey
Bar as an Advocate in 2008 and appointed as Partner in 2010.
Gareth regularly writes articles on insurance, trusts and
anti-money laundering matters (including articles published in the
Lawyer magazine), and has spoken at various seminars and
conferences on trusts and anti-money laundering issues.
He is also a member of the Guernsey
International Lawyers Association and STEP.
