Katy is an associate working as part of the Dispute Resolution
team.
Katy's experience includes representation and advising in
various commercial litigation and arbitration matters, including
several cross-border disputes, regulatory and anti-corruption
matters (including the recent UK Bribery Act, UK Proceeds of Crime
Act and the US Foreign Corrupt Practices Act), world-wide freezing
orders, enforcement proceedings, contractual disputes,
internal investigations, mediations, judicial reviews, defamation,
fiduciary and trust matters, and breaches of companies and
securities legislation.
Katy has regularly appeared as an advocate in the New Zealand
District Courts, High Courts, and Court of Appeal as well as the
Cook Islands High Court and Court of Appeal.
Katy holds a Bachelor of Laws (with honours) and Bachelor of
Arts from the University of Auckland in New Zealand. She was
admitted to the New Zealand bar in 2007 as a barrister and
solicitor and the Cook Islands bar in 2008.
Katy completed her training and subsequently worked as a
barrister and solicitor at Minter Ellison, one of Australasia's top
tier law firms, before joining a leading specialist litigation firm
in Auckland, New Zealand. Prior to joining Collas Crill in
March 2011, Katy was a litigation associate in the London office of
Steptoe & Johnson.
Katy's areas of expertise are contentious trusts work;
regulatory and anti-corruption and fiduciary, director, and
shareholder disputes.
