Collas Crill Singapore celebrates first birthday
Collas Crill's
Singapore team is celebrating its first year in business, having
launched there on 1 August 2011.
Named as the fastest growing law firm by The Lawyer, Collas
Crill is the first and only Channel Islands law firm to open an
office in Singapore offering Guernsey and Jersey legal
services.
Current head of Collas Crill Singapore, Sean Cheong, moved from
Guernsey to set up the Singapore office.
She said: "It's been a fantastic first year for us in Singapore.
Opening the office in Singapore was strategically important for
Collas Crill and our clients, and the Channel Islands offering has
been extremely well received. Our first year has been a great
success, and we've got a lot to celebrate, but we've got ongoing
commitment to this region and were looking to the future with the
expansion of our team in fiduciary, funds and corporate
services."
Marcus Hinkley, Collas Crill's Guernsey based fiduciary expert,
is moving to Singapore to lead the team in September. He is joined
by new partner Leon Santos, a funds specialist.
Collas Crill managing partner Jason Romer said: "In our first
year we have steadily increased the capabilities and strength of
our offering in Singapore. Sean has done a fantastic job in
establishing the Collas Crill office and brand in Singapore and the
Asian region more widely. "
"Our growth in the region has been driven by client need and
demand for Channel Island services. Marcus' move is another
important next step for us in the Asia and a demonstration of our
commitment to the region. His move is a major development
which will ensure that we are able to further develop both our
fiduciary and corporate/funds experience at a high level for our
clients in Asia."
Sean Cheong
will in due course return to the firm's practice in Guernsey but
will retain her ties to Asia.
