Collas Crill is one of a few firms locally that are accredited by the Solicitors' Regulation Authority to provide Training Contracts for those wishing to qualify as Solicitors (of England and Wales).

We are looking to recruit two trainees each for our Guernsey and Jersey office, to join us in September 2020.  

Training Scheme

As a trainee solicitor under a two year Training Contract, you will be supported by a partner or other senior lawyer throughout your contract. You will have the opportunity not only to learn by watching and listening as they carry out their roles on a daily basis, but will be encouraged to have as much 'hands on' experience as you can and you will be given direct client contact as soon as possible.

Your contract will involve you in placements ("seats") within at least three different departments:

  • Corporate, Finance & Funds
  • Dispute Resolution
  • International Private Client & Trusts
  • UK Property (Guernsey only)

Through our links with the City the possibility of a secondment to a top tier London law firm.

Once you have qualified you have the opportunity to secure a permanent position with us.

You'll already have obtained a 2:1 degree or equivalent and have completed, or be due to complete the Legal Practice Course.

Guernsey applicants must possess a Resident Certificate or a valid Population Management Permit that entitles them to work in the island. We do have the opportunity to offer EU residents Medium Term Employment Permits, however preference will be given to local candidates. Applications in Jersey are open to EU residents, however preference will be given to local or five years residency holders.
