Gerard is a partner in the dispute resolution department of Collas Crill BVI. He advises and represents clients on substantial commercial and company disputes. Gerard has wide experience and expertise in litigation, mediation and negotiation, as well as strategic and tactical legal advice covering a variety of business, regulatory, and governmental sectors. He has acted for international corporates and high net worth individuals, advised national Governments at Ministerial level, and challenged and defended regulators. Gerard has argued cases before every level of Court and Tribunal in the UK, and in the BVI, the Cayman Islands, and also in the European Court of Justice and the European Court of Human Rights.
Gerard was for over thirty years a member of Blackstone Chambers in London, and is an International Member of 4-5 Gray’s Inn Square. Before joining Collas Crill in November 2018, Gerard worked for another leading offshore law firm in the BVI.
Gerard studied at the Universities of Oxford and Westminster, and at the Inns of Court School of Law. He was called to the Bar of England and Wales in 1986 and the Bar of the BVI in 2018. He is also a member of the Chancery Bar Association.
