Tom is a Partner and Head of the International Private Client and Trusts department in Cayman.

Tom advises on a broad range of commercial and private trust matters, including in connection with the establishment and administration of investment funds structured as unit trusts, pension trusts, and employee benefit trusts. Tom regularly advises family offices, charitable organisations, trustees and high net worth individuals on complex trust structures for wealth and estate planning, as well as the use of private trust companies, STAR Trusts and Foundation Companies. Tom has represented private and institutional clients in both non-contentious and contentious international trust and private client work, including in relation to applications for directions, mistake, as well as grants of probate and letters of administration, and resealing foreign grants.

"Having acted as a director of a trust company for a number of years, I have first hand the challenges which arise. With that always in my mind, I ensure that my advice is not only technically accurate but as practical as possible for the best possible outcome."

Tom qualified as an attorney at one of London's 'magic circle' firms in 2002 and managed a wealth planning team before his move to the Cayman Islands in 2010. Tom practised as an attorney specialising in trusts and wealth planning in the Cayman Islands for almost six years before assuming the role of a director of a Cayman Islands based trust company. Building on his experience of running a trust company for the three years that followed, Tom then joined the firm to lead the Cayman Islands international trust and private client team.

Tom is a full member of the Society for Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP) and has acquired the STEP Advanced Certificate in UK Tax for International Clients. Tom is also a standing member of the Cayman Islands branch of the STEP Council, having served on the Council for the last four years and acted as Chair of the STEP Global Transparency Committee in Cayman.
