Collas Crill's Corporate Conference - 2018: that was the year that was Conference

More BREXIT, more Trump, less Merkel and about the same amount of market uncertainty.

2018 has been an 'interesting' year.

2019 promises to be the same, but different. Before the new year rushes ahead, the Corporate, Finance and Funds team at Collas Crill invite you to join us at The OGH Hotel, to look back on 2018 and the lessons it offers. We will touch on the challenges, the opportunities and the themes we see that will hold for the coming year.

Drawing lessons from our five practice areas, our speakers will bring a practical perspective to each topic relevant to all practitioners in Guernsey financial services.

COST: £40

WHERE: The OGH Hotel, St Peter Port

WHEN: Friday 25 January 2019

The conference will cover both technical updates and market trends, and will include:

Banking and Finance

This session will look at where things currently stand with LIBOR's replacement benchmark and the rising popularity of Green products in the loan market.

Capital Markets

This session will touch on the 2018 trends in equity and debt listing on the London Stock Exchange and TISE, the impact of changes in regulation and the opportunities for Guernsey for 2019.

Corporate Advisory / M&A

This session will examine market activity in the M&A space, shareholder (dis)agreements and corporate pitfalls and lessons for the future.

Funds and Investments

This session will consider what the Fund's team has seen in 2018, from looking at where we saw promoters coming from and performance fee trends (and the big deviations from the norm) to the rise (and rise) of the PIF and the resurgence we have seen in the open ended space.

Risk and Regulation

We will consider how three internationally imposed requirements in the form of data protection, anti-money laundering and anti-corruption regulations are continuing to change and shape Guernsey businesses of all forms whilst reviewing the lessons of 2018 in these areas.
