Fund finance and private credit partner joins Collas Crill in Cayman

Collas Crill has appointed Dr Agnes Molnar as Partner to lead its fund finance and private credit offering in the Cayman Islands.

Bringing more than 20 years' legal experience, Agnes advises sponsors, asset managers and their financiers on private capital liquidity solutions across the entire lifecycle of a fund bringing fund finance, private credit and structured private credit together as an integrated approach to private capital.

Agnes works with clients at every stage of a fund’s lifecycle. At formation, she structures and establishes the Cayman Islands vehicles that later borrow, invest and issue, including exempted limited partnerships, exempted companies, segregated portfolio companies, rated note feeders, co-investment vehicles and special purpose vehicles. During the investment period, she advises on subscription facilities. As portfolios mature, her work extends to NAV and hybrid facilities, asset-based finance, preferred equity and GP financing. In the later life of a fund, she advises on the financing of secondaries and continuation vehicles, collateralised fund obligations and management fee, capital call and other portfolio cash flow securitisations. Her practice extends to Shari'ah-compliant structures.

Her private credit and structured private credit work, including loan-on-loan portfolio financings and bespoke structures, forms part of the same offering, so that a client's fund-level financing and liquidity strategy are advised on together.

Agnes has acted for fund sponsors and asset managers, banks, private credit and alternative lenders, and institutional investors acting as co-investors and capital providers, as well as onshore law firms.

Caribbean practice head Ellie Crespi said: 'We are delighted to welcome Agnes aboard. Our firm is focused on relationships and servicing all elements of the corporate lifecycle as trusted adviser to our clients. Agnes's values and practice are aligned with the very core of our approach, complementing and further elevating our global private credit offering.  I am very excited to work with Agnes.'

Agnes said: 'Fund-level financing has moved from a niche product to a core part of how sponsors manage liquidity and the Cayman Islands sits at the centre of that market. Collas Crill's strong offshore platform is well placed to serve sponsors and their financiers globally and I am pleased to be part of it.'
