States of Guernsey passes migration regulations for limited partnerships

The States of Guernsey yesterday passed The Limited Partnerships (Guernsey) (Migration) Regulations, 2020. These regulations have been long-awaited; while Guernsey companies have for decades been able to migrate to and from Guernsey, limited partnerships formed in other jurisdictions have been on the outside looking in.

The regulations have been structured in line with the existing, efficient, provisions for the migration of companies under the Companies (Guernsey) Law, 2008 and so will be very familiar to anyone who has brought a company into or taken one out of Guernsey already.

Any limited partnerships established in a foreign jurisdiction which permits migration will be able to move to Guernsey and avail themselves of the excellent legal, regulatory and administrative environment the island has to offer.
