Jaavonne joined the Collas Crill team in February 2026, bringing with her more than eight years of experience in civil and commercial litigation.
Since qualifying as an Attorney-at-Law in 2015, Jaavonne has represented individuals and corporate clients across a wide range of contentious matters, consistently delivering thoughtful and results-driven legal solutions. She has worked alongside King’s Counsel and Senior Practitioners in both Jamaica and the British Virgin Islands.
She has some experience in criminal defence in the British Virgin Islands, further broadening her advocacy skills and reinforcing her ability to act decisively under pressure. She has a particular interest in contentious estate litigation, where she combines technical legal knowledge with sensitivity and discretion to guide clients through emotionally and financially significant disputes.
A graduate of the University of the West Indies, Mona Campus where Jaavonne served as the President of the Mona Law Society, and the Faculty of Law Representative on the Guild of Students. She is also a graduate of the Norman Manley Law School and was a member of the winning team for the Marget Forte Trial Advocacy Competition, she was also awarded the Hon. Mr. Justice Kenneth Smith, O.J Prize for Trial Advocacy.
She is a certified Parish Court Mediator in Jamaica, reflecting her belief in the value of alternative dispute resolution where appropriate. She also holds Postgraduate Certification in Data Protection and Compliance, and Information Governance, equipping her to advise clients in an increasingly regulated and data-driven environment.
