Background
Rachel has extensive experience developing and enhancing compliance monitoring programmes, business risk assessments, governance frameworks, policy suites and operational risk management structures. She has led projects to redesign risk and compliance frameworks, establish monitoring and assurance methodologies, implement outsourcing oversight arrangements and strengthen regulatory reporting processes. Her work regularly involves engagement with boards, regulators and senior stakeholders to evaluate control effectiveness and drive sustainable improvements.
A particular strength of Rachel’s is translating regulatory requirements into practical operating models and measurable control frameworks. She has significant experience supporting firms through regulatory inspections and supervisory reviews, as well as helping boards evidence compliance and demonstrate effective risk management.
Her background within a regulator also provides valuable insight into supervisory expectations and the evidence regulators typically seek when assessing remediation outcomes. Rachel’s combination of regulatory, operational risk and compliance expertise enables her to focus on the practical effectiveness of controls and monitoring arrangements, ensuring remediation programmes deliver lasting improvements rather than simply procedural change. She brings a disciplined, evidence-based approach to testing whether actions have been successfully implemented, embedded and are operating as intended.
A Fellow of the ICA, Rachel holds an MSc in corporate governance from Bournemouth University, as well as international diplomas in governance, risk and compliance and anti-money laundering from the International Compliance Association.
