Two of our senior dispute resolution specialists will speak at the IBC Stress Testing of Trust Structures conference in London on 20 October.
The conference aims to inform trustees and trust advisors on how to identify and analyse threats to trust structures.
Head of Dispute Resolution in Guernsey, Christian Hay, and Senior Associate in the Jersey Dispute Resolution team, Richard Holden, will discuss the topic 'Forum Shopping. Jurisdiction Selection - Which Offers the Best Solution?', and will cover the following:
- How other jurisdictions deal with variation
- In camera hearings
- BVI/Channel Islands/IOM/Cayman
- How safe are the different jurisdictions? - other factors to consider when jurisdiction shopping
Christian has particular expertise in contentious trust and probate related matters and has represented parties to some of the most substantial and significant proceedings before the Royal Court of Guernsey in recent years. Richard's primary focus is complicated litigation involving the interplay of different legal duties and practical problems, in particular regarding property, assets, trusts and fiduciary obligations, and/or international and multi-jurisdictional issues.
