Jersey associate Caitlin Bruce wins the FIRE Starters Future ThoughtLeaders4 essay competition

Associate Caitlin Bruce has won the FIRE Starters Future Thought Leaders4 essay competition.

Written on the topic of 'the crossover between fraud and insolvency in my jurisdiction' Caitlin wrote about the part insolvency processes play in tackling fraud claims in Jersey.

TL4 said that Caitlin's essay was 'well written, with a good balance of academic content and engaging style, coherent assertions and argument, in particular the concept of the insolvent trust.'

Entries were assessed and judged by a panel of experienced, senior and broad ranging insolvency practitioners.

Caitlin will present her essay at the TL4 FIRE Starters Global Summit in Dublin on 25 February. As winner of the competition she is also invited to the FIRE International conference in Vilamoura, Portugal in May.

Caitlin joined Collas Crill's Dispute Resolution team in 2021 and practices broadly in the fields of commercial litigation, insolvency and contentious trust litigation. Since moving to Jersey in July 2020 Caitlin has assisted in a number of disputes involving breach of director's duties claims, shareholders remedies, breach of trust claims and other administrative proceedings in relation to trusts.

Group Partner Simon Hurry said: 'This is a fantastic accolade for Caitlin, who is a key member of the commercial litigation and contentious insolvency team in Jersey. The well deserved recognition is reflective of her knowledge and expertise in insolvency and asset recovery matters. Congratulations!'
