Jersey private fund and expert fund comparison (including AIFMD)

We often receive queries from clients, managers, investors or intermediaries, looking for a high-level comparison of the key differences between the Jersey Private Fund and the Jersey Expert Fund. Both have been extremely popular and are probably the most utilised fund products in Jersey but there are a number of differences between the 'private' and 'public' fund regulatory regimes which affect their suitability and cost.

We have prepared this regulatory comparison as a quick and easy way to identify the most appropriate fund product for your circumstances as well as serving as a rough guide to the important establishment requirements of each. View the pdf here.

Specific advice

The comparison can only provide a generic guide to some of the key legal provisions which will be relevant. Specific practical matters relating to your business, fund or the documents concerned will also need to be considered and advice should be sought in relation to your individual circumstances.
