Jersey appoints first Charity Commissioner

Some three years after the implementation of the Charities (Jersey) Law 2014, Mr John Frederick Mills CBE has been appointed as Jersey's first Charity Commissioner.

Mr Mills will be responsible, in due course, for providing information to the public about the registration of charities in the island, for administering the statutory charity test and operating the register of charities generally.

The law is being brought into force in stages and has not yet been fully implemented. We are hoping the law will be in full force by the end of next year.
