Collas Crill contributes to Guernsey chapter of International Succession Laws

Collas Crill has provided the Guernsey chapter of the International Succession Laws guide.

The International Succession Laws guide includes information dealing with fixed rights of inheritance, recognition of trusts, treatment of lifetime gifts, recognition of foreign wills and recognition of foreign taxes. It is written for trust practitioners, lawyers, accountants and banks whose work for private clients requires them to consider the legal, tax, and succession systems of more than one country.

The Guernsey chapter was produced by Group Partner Joanne Seal with assistance from Julian Turian Director at LTS Tax Limited.

The chapter offers an overview of Guernsey's laws of inheritance relating to real and personal estates and a flavour of the issues you can expect when dealing with succession in Guernsey, including potential challenges such as cross-border issues, taxation considerations and matters that may arise in relation to estates.

You can view the full chapter here courtesy of Bloomsbury International.
