Collas Crill's private client team strengthened by appointment

Collas Crill's Private Client and Trusts team has been strengthened by the return of Bonnie McPartland as Of Counsel.

Bonnie joined Collas Crill in 2016 and during her seven-year tenure with the firm developed a strong reputation in both non-contentious and contentious trust matters, making a notable name for herself advising trustees in complex multi-jurisdictional tax-related matters.

Bonnie also spent time on secondment in a private bank, giving her a first-hand understanding of the commercial demands and considerations faced by many of our clients.

To better understand the firm's clients' needs, and Collas Crill's business, Bonnie took on the role of Relationship Manager for the Jersey office. During her time in this position she was successful in building the firm's profile and expanding its business network.

She will now re-join the non-contentious side of the Private Client Team alongside Victoria Yates.

Bonnie is one of a handful of dual qualified practitioners. She was called to the Bar of England and Wales in 2011 and is a member of The Honourable Society of the Middle Temple. Bonnie subsequently retrained as a solicitor and was admitted to the roll of England and Wales in 2018.

On her new role at Collas Crill Bonnie said: 'I am really looking forward to getting back to the front line! Through my time within the business development team, as well as on my secondment, I have had the good fortune to build some great connections and see things from a client's perspective looking in.  It has also afforded me the opportunity to work closely with the partners at Collas Crill and gain a real insight into the workings of a business beyond the legal considerations.

'Having now experienced being on all sides of the client relationship, I understand and appreciate the need to offer pragmatic advice in line with our core value of being 'easy to do business with'.'

Partner and Head of the Private Client and Trusts team in Jersey, Damian James, said: 'We are delighted to welcome Bonnie back. Her breadth of experience, her established reputation in the industry, and her extensive network of contacts are invaluable to the team as we grow and develop our non-contentious trust law practice.'
