Danny is a partner in the commercial dispute resolution team based in Collas Crill's Jersey office. He is an experienced litigator who undertakes a wide range of civil and commercial litigation matters.

Danny has been litigating in Jersey for over 15 years and has also practised in the Cayman Islands. He was called to the Bar of England and Wales in 2001 and to the Jersey Bar as an advocate in 2004. He joined Collas Crill's predecessor firm, Crill Canavan, in 2009 and was promoted to partner in 2013.

He specialises in trust litigation; litigation involving foundations; contentious fund matters; fraud-related claims; professional negligence claims and claims for breach of directors' duties. His practice also includes dealing with insolvency related matters, both in a contentious and non-contentious context, and regulatory matters. Amongst other things, Danny is currently:

  • Advising receivers appointed by the Royal Court of Jersey over substantial assets, and responsible for co-ordinating litigation in a number of jurisdictions
  • Defending directors in relation to a significant claim for breach of their duties
  • Acting for the settlor of substantial Jersey trusts in relation to proceedings in Jersey and elsewhere
  • Acting for HMRC in proceedings before the Royal Court of Jersey relating to the provision of information to it by a trustee in bankruptcy
  • Defending a surveyor in a significant claim for professional negligence

He is a member of the Association of Restructuring and Insolvency Experts (ARIES).
