Annabel is an Associate in the Financial Services and Regulatory team in the BVI office. She is admitted to practise as a solicitor in the British Virgin Islands, and England and Wales.

She advises on banking and finance transactions (including real estate finance and Islamic finance), mergers and acquisitions, funds and other general corporate and commercial matters.

Annabel relocated to BVI in September 2022 after spending four years post-qualification in the firm's Guernsey office.

During her time in Guernsey, Annabel worked on a number cross-jurisdictional and cross-departmental matters with our other offices. In particular, Annabel regularly worked with the property teams assisting property funds on the acquisition of large commercial properties both in Guernsey and Jersey and acting for the borrower in the financing for the development of Guernsey's Premier Inn.

Annabel spent three months in our Cayman Islands' office, assisting within the insolvency and corporate restructuring department.

Annabel has undertaken client secondments to leading private banks in both Channel Islands. Being able to experience transactions from a client's perspective has enabled her to fully understand and appreciate their specific needs.

Annabel initially joined Collas Crill as a paralegal before undertaking her training contract with the firm, qualifying as a Solicitor of England and Wales in September 2018.

During her training contract, Annabel undertook a four month secondment to Charles Russell Speechlys LLP in London in their private wealth disputes team.

Annabel read psychology and anthropology at Oxford Brookes University and went on to complete the Graduate Diploma in Law and then the Legal Practice Course at the University of Law, London Moorgate.

Annabel is listed as a recommended lawyer in Legal 500 2024.

We work with our corporate teams to provide solutions which may include conventional loans, leveraging the target, accessing capital markets, or typically, a combination of these. We act for lenders, corporates and corporate advisors.

Real estate finance

Real estate continues to dominate as an asset class for many investors. We have a strong track record in financing commercial real estate acquisitions, mainly in New York and the UK and the London prime market. We act for some of the key lenders in this area. Our clients include banks, funds, alternative lenders, private equity houses, private investors, hotel consortiums and family offices. Locally, we have worked on the funding of some of the most prestigious buildings in our jurisdictions.

Asset finance

We work both lender and borrower side in funding the acquisition of aircraft, ships, containers, art and other high value assets and advise on finance and operating leases, sale and leaseback transactions, jurisdiction specific transactions such as JOLCOs and the securitisation of asset receivables.
