Lydia Campbell

Overview

Lydia has extensive experience as a civil litigator within other (local) jurisdictions, with a particular focus on contentious disputes.

Experience

Lydia has experience working on various high-value offshore trust disputes, some of which involving multiple jurisdictions. Her experience in trust litigation includes matters that have been before more senior courts upon appeal. Whilst Lydia's experience is predominantly in contentious matters, she has also acted in an advisory capacity in matters involving (novel) prospective probate and will disputes.

Lydia's unique professional background as a Barrister and as an offshore litigator has enabled her to gain valuable experience in complex legal research and drafting as well as trial preparation and advocacy.

Her professional experience to date has seen her work in a broad range of contentious practice areas ranging from personal injury and clinical negligence to trusts, land and commercial disputes.

Background

Prior to joining Collas Crill, Lydia qualified as a Barrister in England and Wales, undertaking pupillage at a leading Chambers in Bristol. She continued her self-employed civil practise for a number of years thereafter, whilst also undertaking offshore work in the Isle of Man, where she also qualified as an Advocate (with distinction).

Private trust companies (PTC) and private trustee foundations (PTF) are an ideal solution for clients wanting to divest themselves of ownership while still retaining a level of control. A PTC, or its most recent incarnation, the PTF, is a corporate vehicle which is used by a family in place of a professional trustee so that the family themselves can control the board of the trustee and thereby control the underlying assets.

We live in an increasingly contentious world. When your business is involved in any kind of legal dispute it's crucial to work with lawyers who are hands-on, cost-effective and flexible enough to respond quickly and intuitively to your unique situation and needs.
