Michael joined Collas Crill in September 2019 and has a broad range of experience from over 12 years experience in the UK, the Middle East and in Jersey.
He trained at Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer in London and Dubai. He has also worked at Clifford Chance in Dubai and Doha and most recently worked in the corporate and finance teams of two other offshore law firms in their Jersey offices.
While in private practice, Michael advised on a wide range of corporate, banking and other finance transactions with a particular interest in leveraged finance, real estate finance, Islamic Finance and restructuring and insolvency matters.
Now as a professional support lawyer, Michael works with the Group Director of Knowledge Management and team to develop and maintain internal know-how and precedents, develop new systems and to keep abreast of legal and commercial updates to support partners and fee earners across all of the firm's offices and practice areas.
Michael is ranked in the 2019 Legal 500 directory in Jersey for both corporate and banking and finance work.
He qualified as a solicitor of England and Wales (currently non-practising) in March 2005, and in Ireland as a solicitor in the summer of 2014.
Most recently, Michael has passed the Jersey qualifying examination and will be sworn in as an Advocate of the Royal Court of Jersey in December 2019.
He is a member of ARIES (the Channel Islands branch of INSOL International).
